International artists

Experts in their field for chamber music, renowned International Artists are involved with Project String Quartet to create high quality concert performances, workshops and masterclasses in schools across the UK. School projects with the International Artists include formal evening concerts, masterclasses and teaching to create an engaging and interactive environment for students to learn and experience a wide range of music through live chamber music performance.

PSQ International Artists will also mentor Young Professional Quartets to prepare them for careers in the music industry, performing alongside them in school visits in a wide range of chamber quintet performances and presentations.

Tamsin Waley-Cohen enjoys an adventurous and varied career, and is a founding member of the Albion string quartet. She has performed in concerts with the Royal Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, Hallé, Liverpool Philharmonic, Czech Philharmonic, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony, Royal Northern Sinfonia and BBC orchestras, amongst others.

Leon Bosch has an honoured place among the select group of virtuoso double bass players worldwide. He spent twenty years as principal double bass with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, and devotes his musical career to performing and recording as a soloist, setting up his chamber ensemble I Musicanti and teaching in the UK and internationally.

Stephen Stirling is a renowned soloist and chamber musician. His discography includes over 80 works including a nomination for a Gramophone award. His set of Mozart Horn Concertos has been broadcast many times by Classic FM. He is the principal horn and frequent soloist with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, the City of London Sinfonia and the Orchestra of St John’s.

Harp

French born harpist Marie Leenhardt is one of the leading harpists in the UK and has been Principal Harp of the Halle Orchestra for over 20 years. She has played all the major harp concertos with the orchestra and worked with many leading conductors including Mark Elder and Bernard Haitink. She teaches harp at Chetham’s School of Music.
